Cook 1 Position

Typical Functions

  • Assist Cook 2 in the preparation of a variety of foods such as vegetables, fruits, meats, soups, salads, pastry and cereals in accordance with prescribed recipes.
  • Carve and display meats, vegetables, fruits, and salads
  • Inspect food to ensure freshness of items produced
  • Operate food preparation equipment and machinery.
  • Follow all proper cleaning and sanitation requirements.
  • Assist other kitchen personnel as needed.
  • Maintain professional hygiene and appearance.
  • Wash plate ware, glassware, silverware, pots/pans and kitchen utensils according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
  • Ensure dishes are sanitized and available as needed; always keep sanitation solution up to San Felipe Pueblo Enterprise standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine.
  • Place clean plate ware, glassware, silverware and pot/pans in specified shelves according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
  • Keep dish areas clean by sweeping, mopping floors, wiping countertops, and emptying trash.
  • Trouble-shoots dishwasher machine malfunctions.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete required training as directed by the Supervisor or the Human Resources Department.
  • Must perform all work functions in accordance with the San Felipe Pueblo Enterprises Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-year experience in a high-volume restaurant; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work is performed in the kitchen area with exposure to heat, fumes and steam. Lifting large hot and cold trays required with lifting up to 25 pounds. Prolonged standing and walking is required.
